Randy Dean, President of Randall Dean Consulting & Training, Michigan, is rapidly nearing completion of a new book filled with strategies for more effective e-mail management, from both a professional and personal perspective. This new book, tentatively titled Taming the E-mail Beast: 35 Key Strategies for Better Managing Your E-mail Overload (and Regaining Your E-mail Sanity!)" will likely be available in a business paperback format before the end of 2007. The second draft of the book is currently with a professional copy editor, and is right now projected to have 20-22 chapters of very valuable information on more effective e-mail management. Topic areas will include a discussion on separating work, personal, and junk/SPAM e-mail; a proven strategy for reducing the amount of e-mail clutter that builds up within an individual's e-mail; why checking email constantly is a very damaging behavior from a productivity and efficiency perspective; an email account "clean up"/organization regimen that will help users get accounts containing hundreds to thousands of messages back to single digits; strategies for better managing carbon copy (CC:) e-mails and forwarded e-mails; and strategies for more effectively managing e-mail when using PDAs or "Smart Phones".
This book project grew out of Randy's very popular "Taming the E-mail Beast" corporate training and conference speaking programs. Randy has shared his e-mail management strategies with thousands of managers and professionals all around the United States and abroad over the last three years, and is considered one of the leading time management/e-mail management experts in the U.S. He has spoken on the topic at several major conferences, top universities, and Fortune 500 companies.
Due to the success of these programs and the strong demand from professionals attending his courses, Randy decided to compile and enhance his strategies on effective e-mail management and put those strategies into a standalone book. The book has taken more than a year to compile, edit, and refine, and now has 35 key strategies identified for more sane and intelligent e-mail management. The valuable content in the book promises to change the fundamental nature of many people's relationship with their e-mail, as well as how they administer and manage their email on a regular daily basis.
As part of the process to get interested readers more information on this important book, Randy has developed a "sneak preview" PDF document that includes a three chapter preview, as well as more complete information on the topics covered, a full outline of the book's planned content, and information on a special bonus offer for those that pre-order the book prior to publication.
